Birth of Madras Linen; a note from the founder - Sourabh Kankaria
I grew up around textiles. Fabrics, manufacturing, and trade were always part of my world, first through H K Fabrics and later through ATI Global Textiles. Over the years, I learned to appreciate not just how a fabric is made, but how it feels, how it lasts, and how it becomes part of everyday life. Living in India, I kept coming back to one simple thought: we need clothes that let us breathe. That’s what drew me to linen. Madras Linen is my attempt to bring that feeling into everyday dressing; pure linen, thoughtfully made, and designed for the way we live here. And the name is personal too. Madras is the city that shaped me, and a name deeply connected to the textile world. Chennai may have changed its name, but the spirit of Madras remains.
This is where my journey with textiles meets my belief in how clothes should feel.
